Murder, revenge, the mysterious disappearance of a promising young art student from her family's
country estate; Christmas isn't all Santa Claus and fancy gift wrappings under a pine tree in this satiric comic mystery.
"AN UNPREDICTABLE BLEND OF FANTASY AND MURDER."
On Christmas Eve of nineteen
sixty-five, Jodie Jones, a graduate student at Chicago's Art Institute, disappears from her family's country
estate. No clue to her fate is uncovered in a month long search hampered early on by high winds and drifts of snow.
A year passes. Despite the protestations of the influential Jones family, authorities abandon their investigation.
Maui artist, Gilles Barker, was Jodie's fiance on that Christmas
Eve. They were inseparable then. Today thoughts of Jodie only occasionally cross his conscious mind.
As Gilles enters Maui's Kahului airport on the seventeenth
anniversary of Jodie's disappearance, he has little reason to suspect his Christmas Eve flight to Phoenix will lead him to
the bizarre explanation of Jodie's fate sending him on a mystical helicopter ride through reality and his childhood
chimeras to a journey across space and time.
